If you have been involved in an accident and an officer comes out and completes a crash report, the report generally takes between 5 and 7 working days to become available to the public. The cost of the report is $10.00. You may pick up you up your crash report in person at the police department, or send a self addressed stamped envelope to: 310 Clay, West Columbia, Tx. 77486. Please include a check or money order made out to The City of West Columbia. Make sure you reference your crash number. If you do not know your crash number, please list the name of the driver involved, the location of the crash, and the date of the crash so that we may ensure that the corrrect report is sent to you or your insurance company. If you or your insurance company has any questions, please contact the department at 979-345-5121 and ask for the records department.
If you are involved in a crash (accident) on private property, or in a crash that resulted in less than $1000.00 in damage to your vehicle, your insurance company may still require a crash report that an officer advised you he was unable to complete. Simply click on the link below and print out the form "Texas DPS Form CR-2 ". Then fill out the form and mail a copy of it to the address listed at the top of page 2 of the form, and give a copy of it to your insurance company.
